This… this is my life now.
“I’m On A Boat” A-Capella
My favorite thing about college a-capella groups is that always seem like they’re composed of nerds who still get laid more than anyone else in school.
Reprisal.
Fun fact: I was required to spend two years growing a beard specifically for this role.
(via eyeonspringfield)
from the never-to-be-seen again New York City episode of the Simpsons.
A scraping sound,
like someone writing his name
in big letters
in the gravel with a Wiffle bat.
It’s the sound of my shoes
skidding on the ground
as I’m dragged by my armpits
in short bursts
from the Buick into the woods.
It all makes me think of
the shadow of a waterfall,
a description of a church,
the absence of metaphor.
These are my last thoughts
is what I’m thinking,
my cardigan ruined,
the Buick almost out of view.
She had said she wanted to hitch-hike
across the country wearing
a pair of cut-offs and a taco hat.
She had cupped my neck with her hand
and whispered this into my ear.
“The Hazards of Love 2 (Wager All)” - The Decemberists
I have a knack for stumbling across beautiful songs. Maybe they’re just beautiful to me. I’m one of those people who needs to have the lyrics/score in front of them to make a full judgment on a song/piece. Since this album hasn’t been released to the public yet, I wasn’t able to find a transcript of the lyrics. In return, it made me listen to this song ever-so carefully.
I hope you listen to it and fall in love with it as I did.
More often than not, I find myself wishing i could sing like Colin Meloy.
